How To Remove False Nails?

0

False nails allow you to obtain a neat manicure in a jiffy while hiding damaged nails. Yes, but now, the beauty of false nails is ephemeral and fades when the natural nails grow back after 2 to 3 weeks. If you do not want to make an appointment at an institute to remove your false nails, know that it is possible to do it yourself at home. We explain to you step by step how to do well to remove nails in capsule as in gel.

     1. Acetone Bath

Capsule or gel false nails are glued to the natural nail using glue. It is therefore sufficient to bring an acetone-based solvent to dissolve this glue so as to easily remove the false nail. The contact time must however be long enough, of the order of 20 to 30 minutes, to allow the acetone to exert its action.

Thus, to remove false nails, simply follow the 5 following steps:

Start by cutting the false nails as short as possible to facilitate their removal.

Apply a layer of petroleum jelly all around your nails to protect your skin from the acetone remover. The rather long bath that requires the removal of your false nails could indeed irritate your skin.

Pour some acetone-based nail polish remover into a small container that can hold your nails and soak them in for a 20 to 30 minute bath. Take care to fully immerse the entire nail in the liquid.

Once the time has elapsed, wipe your hands and try to take off your nails using a cuticle pusher. The glue, in contact with the acetone product, must have taken on a slightly gelatinous consistency. If the false nails do not come off easily, put your fingers back in the acetone bath for another 5 minutes.

At the end of the removal, remove any glue residue on your natural nails with a cotton ball soaked in solvent or by gently scraping them with a cuticle pusher. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water then apply a protective and moisturizing cream to your hands, paying particular attention to the nails.

    2.  Nails In Papillote

There is another method to remove your false nails: nail wraps! This is also the method used by most stylists and nail technicians in institutes to remove varnish or false nails.

This method also calls for the use of acetone-based solvent and is broken down into 7 steps:

Cut large rectangles of aluminum foil. You need as many as false nails to remove!

Soak as many make-up remover cotton pads as false nail removers in acetone remover.

Cut your false nails to remove as short as possible then protect the edge of your nails with petroleum jelly.

Place the soaked cotton on the false nail to take off then cover it with a rectangle of aluminum foil.

Leave the papillotes for 20 to 30 minutes.

Once the time has elapsed, remove the twists then take off your nails using a cuticle pusher.

Remove any glue residue from your natural nails, wash your hands well and then moisturize them.

    3.  Cuticle Repeller, For Acetone-Free Removal

If you don’t want to go through the nail polish remover box or if you just don’t have any, you can do without it by trying to lift your false nails with a cuticle stick.

This method without acetone nevertheless requires a little patience and meticulousness. Start to lift the lift the edge of your false nails with the stick then and cut the raised part with a small pair of scissors. Small embroidery scissors can do just fine if you don’t have manicure or pedicure scissors. Proceed gradually, small pieces after small pieces, so as not to risk damaging your natural nails too much.

    4. The Dental Floss Method

As with the previous method, the dental floss method requires lifting the nail by its base using a cuticle stick. Then simply pass the dental floss under the raised part by making small back and forth movements back and forth to gradually take off the false nail.

However, this method can be difficult to implement alone and may require the help of a third party.

     5.  Sanding

Finally, you can simply sand the surface of the false nail until only a very thin layer of acrylic nail remains on the natural nails. There are small electric sanders specially designed for this purpose.

Putting Toothpaste On Pimples: Is It A Good Tip?

0

Among all the recipes and natural tips handed down from generation to generation, is that of the toothpaste that heals pimples really justified? What were those who inspired this idea based on? On two things, the need to dehydrate and the need to disinfect.

  • The Active Ingredients Contained In The Toothpaste

Toothpaste has a reputation for curing pimples and pimples, especially acne.

This is because acne usually appears on oily skin and toothpaste contains dehydrating agents

  • Disinfect The Button

It is mainly the emollient action of the baking soda present in toothpaste that is sought in this practice. Indeed, by softening the epidermis, bicarbonate promotes the flow of pus. However, it is precisely in the pus that all the microbes and bacteria that cause rashes are found.

Additionally, the antibacterial agents included in toothpaste formulas are said to permanently destroy these same bacteria.

  • A Drying Effect

This same baking soda, alcohol or fluorine have a dehydrating action, of course. But, unsuitable for the skin, these products disrupt the natural pH and can cause skin problems such as rosacea, eczema or other allergies.

Fluoride, meanwhile, can even promote a crisis of perioral dermatitis.

  • Is Toothpaste Really Suitable For The Epidermis Of The Facial?

Baking soda (or the silica that is also sometimes found in toothpaste) is also and above all an abrasive agent.

In addition, toothpaste still contains other components that are much less suitable for the epidermis.

Fluoride to strengthen the enamel can irritate the skin and cause itching or even allergies.

Sulphates. Namely that Sodium Lauryl, for its part, promotes the appearance of comedones, because it promotes the production of sebum. The skin will therefore ultimately be oilier, which, in our case, is the exact opposite of the desired effect.

Bleaching agents (hydrogen peroxide, for example) absolutely not suitable for the skin.

Not to mention all the products contained in colored or ball toothpastes which can be highly allergenic.

  • To Each Remedy Its Solution

Finally, the only expected beneficial actions are to dehydrate and disinfect the area where the pimple appeared.

The toothpaste is intended for rapid action with immediate and abundant rinsing, and in no case for prolonged use.

This is why it is much more prudent to use a product adapted to the skin and in particular to that of the face, which is particularly reactive for some people.

In particular, you can take a lotion for oily skin, a hydrosol or a thermal spring water spray.

The ideal is to seek advice from your pharmacist or consult a dermatologist.

  • For The Irredibles Of Toothpaste

The only advice that can be given for people who absolutely want to use toothpaste to treat their pimples are:

  1. Choose a white toothpaste (without any coloring).
  2. Ideally, an organic toothpaste.

The deodorant lasts 24 hours thanks to this

0

It smells fresh all day long!

If you use deodorant, the packaging usually says it should last 24 hours or more. But at the end of the day, you can still smell the faint odor of sweat emanating from your armpits. So how do you make sure your deodorant lasts 24 hours?

  • Ingredients

According to the BBC Science Focus, these deodorants are said to last longer because they contain certain ingredients that help them last. These special ingredients ensure your deodorant works for 24 or 48 hours. But whether it actually works remains to be seen. You’ve probably seen that in many situations your deodorant doesn’t last as long. Luckily, there’s a special trick you can try to make sure it lasts longer. And it’s really easy to do!

  • Burglary

A simple change to make is to use the deodorant in the evening instead of in the morning. This may seem a little odd; When you go to bed, you really don’t need to be so cool. But if you apply it in the morning, your sweat glands will be very active. And when your sweat glands are active, they can’t fully absorb the antiperspirant in your deodorant. This makes it less effective during the day. When you sleep, you sweat less.

It also aids in the absorption of the antiperspirant. All this makes your deodorant more effective and lasts 24 or even 48 hours!

The only thing you need to check is if your deodorant contains antiperspirant. Because this trick only works if your deodorant contains antiperspirants. But it definitely looks like a hack worth trying!

  • Understand what’s being said

not all deodorants are created equal, and it’s important to be clear about what you’re applying and what your body needs. Most people know that there is a difference between deodorant and antiperspirant; Deodorants help reduce bacteria that can cause odor and contain fragrance to help you smell your best, while antiperspirants go a step further and reduce the amount of sweat. However, there can also be a difference in effectiveness within each classification. The exceptional component to do is to try different options until you find the one that works for you. If you need something stronger, try a clinical strength option.

  • Prepare your holes

“Shaving and cleaning your armpits makes antiperspirants work even better because odor-causing bacteria can build up around the hair and thrive in dead skin cells, oil, and sweat,” says Chris. “Shaving and washing help the antiperspirant do its job by going straight to the source of sweat and odor. If shaving your armpits isn’t your thing, just make sure you keep the area very clean to avoid excess sweat or odor. You can even wear an underarm primer now: All-natural brand Meow Meow Tweet just invented a $22 underarm primer that layers onto your deodorant of choice (we love those adorably illustrated sticks), his increases skills and makes it last as long as possible. The anti-inflammatory botanicals in the formula stop irritation and balance the skin’s naturally acidic pH (which can cause sensitivity when combined with alkaline deodorants, such as those containing baking soda).

  • Look at your clothes

Have you ever noticed that some shirts are guaranteed to make you sweat while others are excellent? “It’s not really the type of fabric, it’s the fit of the fabric,” says Chris.“Deodorant can get on your shirt when you put it on, and then those ‘tiger stripes’ will appear on the sides of your shirt. It can also be cleaned during the day when you wear a tight armpit or undershirt. The white marks you see are mostly the antiperspirant active.” If you’re concerned about sweating, opt for something super breathable that’s loose fitting under your arms.

The shape of your eyes says a lot about your personality

0

It’s not just the color of your eyes that says a lot about your personality

Happiness, pleasure, sadness, lies and anger – you can see it all in someone’s eyes. The eyes say a lot about certain emotions. It’s good to know this because that way we can often know how the person is feeling without their knowledge. But not only emotions but also information about a person’s personality can be gained from examining the shape of his eyes. Curious? We explain it to you.

  1. Almond eyes

Slanted-eyed people generally have warm and friendly personalities. If you have slanted eyes, you are most likely loved and do everything in your power to help others. However, you can be a little private, making it difficult for people to get to know you well. Try not to take everything too seriously and release the brakes a little more often.

2. Small eyes

Do you have small eyes? Second, you are very good at focusing on yourself. You have a critical, analytical and serious attitude towards life. You are often the smartest person in the group and people ask you to solve complex problems. Some may think you have no emotions, but nothing could be further from the truth.

3. Protruding eyes

Protruding eyes may not be the right word, but your eyes are not hidden in their sockets. Your eyes are there – and they are beautiful! – and they say that you are a kind and gentle person. You have a small circle of friends and family around you. These people are everything to you and you never lose sight of them.

4. Sunken eyes

Are your eyes a little more sunken in their sockets? Then you are the type of dreamer who can play alone. You seem a little mysterious to the outside world. However, that doesn’t mean anything bad. You are romantic and when you know someone very well, you show yourself completely.

5. round eyes

If you have round eyes, you are full of creativity. You are an open, emotional and enthusiastic person. You often stand out in large groups because you have a lot of charm. Sometimes people with round eyes are a bit clumsy.

6. big eyes and small eyes

The size of your eyes is an indication of how you see the world and how you react to it. Bigger eyes are associated with openness, passion, and creativity. People with larger eyes tend to be more empathetic and emotionally act on logic. On the other end of the spectrum are small eyes, signifying someone who is more pragmatic and calculated. As smaller eyes suggest, you are hyper-focused without being easily distracted. Logic, intelligence, and functionality are paramount to the way you live your life. Since emotions are subordinate to logic, many people with smaller eyes can be viewed as distant and cold; however, this is a misconception. Just because you don’t allow your emotions to control your life doesn’t mean you don’t have emotions

7.Round and almond-fashioned eyes

Just as size can tell something about a person’s personality, so can the shape of the eye. Those with round eyes tend to be more creative. This is a close cousin of big eyes as emotions play a big part in this personality. With this heightened imagination, mood swings and impractical thoughts can arise if emotions are not kept in check.People with almond-fashioned eyes are extra cautious. This is not necessarily a bad thing as they are also usually associated with compassion and positivity. This caution actually leads to a more balanced life because it is easier to stay calm in situations even as you’re prepared. When each of those eye shapes are pronounced, they each exude an amazing mystique that fascinates others.

8.Eyes closed and separated

Distance is the subsequent element to don’t forget while the use of eyes to are expecting personality. Closed eyes indicate one who is content with routine and is a traditionalist. These people don’t want change as much as others. Because of this rigidity and routine, extreme focus and discipline is a symptom. You may not be spontaneous, but you will feel comfortable and secure in your life pattern. Wide-set eyes are a bit the opposite of close-set eyes. People with a greater viewing distance tend to be more flexible and impulsive. The need for order just isn’t there and they find happiness in the unknown and in exploring life.

9.Protruding or sunken eyes

For those with deeper eye sockets, they are generally more romantic and intimate.Although it seems like this person is an open book, she also has a mysterious nature. They like to hide their true feelings and only open up to those who are really close to them. A person with eyes sticking out of orbit will be kind and sensitive. They usually have a worrying and pessimistic nature, but they show the nature of an extrovert.

Culinary Myths That Turn Out To Be Completely False

0

Many culinary myths have sprung up over the years, and some have proven to be quite persistent. All chefs have developed their own culinary myths over the generations. Of course, it is inevitable that there are some myths about these methods. With so many different ways to prepare a rich and tasty dish, there are also many opinions. So it is time to debunk the 8 largest culinary myths as soon as and for all! To help you get the facts straight, we’re going to uncover eight culinary myths that are dead wrong.

  1. Flour does not spoil

You might think that the bag of bread flour you’ve been keeping in your pantry for a few years is already indestructible, but it’s a lot more vulnerable than you think. Although it takes a relatively long time, flour can certainly lose taste and quality despite properly sealed packaging. Signs that your flour has definitely gone bad are an unpleasant odor and the presence of weevils. These tiny insects look a bit like larvae. So it’s been a while since you’ve used your flour? Please check it properly before use!

  1. Microwaves

remove nutrients from food Microwaves are so useful that we all assume there is something wrong with them. From a health point of view, however, they are completely harmless. When you prepare food in the microwave, you do not expose it to the heat for as long as you would on the stove. Because of this, some experts suggest that microwaving can help your food retain its important nutrients better.

  1. You have to rinse your noodles with water

Although many people believe that you should rinse pasta under cold water to optimize the flavor and texture of the pasta, this turns out to be largely wrong. Rinsing the pasta also means you’re rinsing off the natural starches that help the sauce stick to it. This means your dinner will be significantly less flavorful if you rinse the noodles.

  1. Well-done meat is safer

There’s a reason some experts shake their heads when you ask them to make sure your steak is well done. Not only do they ruin the flavor and texture of the meat, but there’s absolutely no evidence that cooking meat until it’s leathery helps kill more bacteria. All you need to kill the bacteria is a temperature of around 65°C inside the meat.

  1. Salt makes water boil faster

Although all cooks seem to sprinkle a fair amount of salt in the water before increasing the heat, this only alters the taste. In fact, salt can even increase cooking time due to a phenomenon known as “boiling point elevation.

6.Wait for bubbles to appear before flipping a pancake

The key to making a perfect pancake is waiting for bubbles to appear before flipping it, right? Well, not exactly. Depending on the thickness of the pancakes you’re making, waiting for bubbles to appear can leave you with a pile of burnt food before you know it. If you’re using nut or bean flour, be sure to cook your pancakes on low-medium heat and flip them when the bottom starts to set.

roasted chicken

7.The absence of the pink color means the chicken is fully cooked

Don’t assume that just because your chicken is no longer pink, it’s fully cooked.Poultry is the number one source of diet-related diseases, so it’s imperative that you check your bird’s temperature with a meat thermometer, rather than just looking at color.

8.A cast-iron pan should not be washed

Do you think you’ll never be able to wash that cast iron skillet? think again While lye-based soaps can damage the pan’s seasoning, a properly polymerized pan with oil is unaffected by regular dish soap. If in doubt, you should still clean your pan with water and a sponge and dry it completely to prevent rust.

9.baking soda never goes bad

Baking Soda that has been sitting in your cupboard for years may not rot like a traditional food, but that doesn’t mean it will be as effective as a new box. Have fresh boxes of baking soda and baking soda on hand,” says Tara Tornello, founder and chef at The Darling Kitchen in New York. “Let remedies lose potency when they’re expired, so replace them every 6 to 12 months.

Is It Okay to Have Crushes While in a Relationship?

1

It doesn’t have to be the end of your long-term relationship

For some people, their partner’s infatuation with someone would automatically mean the end of the relationship for others. They believe that when the person they love develops feelings for another person, it is a red flag. But that doesn’t have to be the case, says a neuropsychologist.

1. Don’t Panic

It can be scary when you’re in a committed relationship and you start to develop feelings for someone else. You and your partner may not be as in love as when you first met, and some of the passion may also be gone. And when you meet someone you can laugh and talk to, it can be exciting enough to lead to a small crush. Or a big one.

But that doesn’t mean your relationship is over. Neuropsychologist Nawal Mustafa says it’s perfectly normal to sometimes fall in love with someone who isn’t your partner.

2.Many crushes

Researchers found that 69.9 percent of women in romantic relationships are committed long-term, they fell in love with people who were not their partners. This means that if you are or have been in love with another person, it is completely normal. And you still don’t have to worry about your current relationship.

Your innocent crush will only become a threat to your relationship if you act on it.

So there’s really nothing to do but wait. If you don’t put the time or energy into this crush, it will disappear as quickly as it appeared. And your relationship will be as strong as it was before it was deterred by a passing desire

3. What does it mean when you have a crush?

In general, a crush, if only that, is harmless and doesn’t necessarily indicate an underlying problem in the relationship. “Being in love doesn’t mean a person wants out of the relationship they’re in,” Marriage and Family Therapist in Portland, Oregon. But if you choose to feed this swarm, there’s probably a reason you’re doing it. It could be something you are struggling with on a personal level (ex., has a history of self-sabotage when things get serious) or maybe you’re just trying to scratch an itch that your current relationship isn’t fulfilling.“People regularly communicate approximately the wishes of fanatics that are not being met in a devoted relationship,”

“For example, the relationship has become routine or boring, but her interactions with her crush are fun and exciting. Or your partner has no interest in movies, but your crush loves movies and wants to talk about them all the time. Perhaps you are feeling smothered by your current partner and are looking for an escape route.  Or maybe you’ve gone through a rough patch in your relationship where you and your partner aren’t connecting or communicating openly.

In other cases, the crush may be an attempt to make your partner jealous or to get them to pay more attention to you when you’re feeling neglected. “Relationship deficits, whether temporary or permanent, could make falling in love seem a lot more appealing,” Howes told us. Rodman recommends that you spend a little time thinking about why you like this particular person. It may have more to do with you and your family or relationship history than the person. “For example, a woman in love with an older man who is an authority figure may yearn for a parent’s approval, or a socially anxious man who has a crush on an outgoing co-worker may need help from a more outgoing one to fantasize about the woman I could be more confident,” she told

Don’t wrap leftovers in Aluminum Foil , get to know Why.

4

Will you always wrap food in plastic wrap?

If you have leftovers and don’t have Tupperware available for storage, aluminum foil shines always a good solution. Some restaurants still wrap leftovers in foil. But it turns out that’s not a good way.

According to experts, this can harm your precious food.

Oxygen

Oxygen is your food’s worst enemy. Where oxygen is present, bacteria can take hold in food. Wrap leftovers in aluminum foil so bacteria have plenty of room to invade and ruin a delicious lunch before you can eat it.

Due to the oxygen and bacteria that can get into food, it continues to spoil. And that’s exactly what you wanted to avoid with the aluminum foil! What should you do instead?

Alternatives

An alternative to foil is cling film. Bacteria don’t stand a chance with cling film.

Another good alternative is Tupperware. And if you decide to pack your groceries in a box, choose one that fits snugly. If you choose a box that is too big, the bacteria will still settle in. A new way to store leftovers in beeswax wrap. These are beeswax sheets that you can use to keep food fresh

And it’s better for the environment than aluminum foil or plastic wrap.

And if you don’t eat leftovers right away, freeze them! Your leftovers will keep for months in a freezer bag or box. This way you can relive last night’s dinner whenever you want!

What to use to keep leftovers safe

Storing leftovers safely means sealing leftovers airtight. Better yet, opt for more eco-friendly, reusable containers made from glass, food-grade silicone, and BPA-free multipurpose plastics. These can save you money and prevent your leftovers from spoiling.

Rubbermaid Brilliance Food Storage

Jar Store all your favorite foods in these 100% leak-proof Rubbermaid food storage containers with clear BPA-free lids and bases so you always know what’s inside and how much is left. The airtight seal prevents bacteria from growing and entering and prevents food spills. They’re also dishwasher safe, stack easily to save pantry space, and are strong enough to last for months in the freezer.

Stasher Reusable silicone food bags

Finally, the ziplock bags are reusable and easier to use and clean than you might expect. These affordable 100% silicone pouches from Stasher make storing and preparing food a breeze and offer a leak-proof closure that’s just as good for leftovers as it is for on-the-go snacks. “We’ve been using all sizes of stasher bags, mostly in relation to groceries, for almost a year now and have never had a problem with a single one,” writes verified Amazon shopper Maison Leach. “ s don’t leak, they don’t smell, they close and open easily and don’t take up much space compared to traditional Tupperware or other food containers.

Acts of Kindness

The study, conducted by David Cregg and Jennifer Cheavens, involved 122 people part. All participants had symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress; ranges from moderate to difficult. The contributors have been divided into 3 groups. Two groups had to use cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, and one group had to perform three acts of kindness a day, two days a week. These acts could be anything. They were beneficial to others and entailed some costs (in terms of time and/or resources) for the participants. These participants baked cookies for their friends, left words of encouragement around the house, or took people out.

For five weeks, the participants had to follow their instructions. The results were then evaluated.

Results

The best result of the study was that people in all groups felt better. This means that the usual techniques normally used to treat depression and anxiety also worked. But the third group that did kind deeds felt better than everyone else.

David Cregg told The Ohio State News, “…acts of kindness still showed an advantage over social activities and cognitive reappraisal in making people feel more connected to other people, which is a large part of well-being.  And it’s not just about being social. According to Jennifer Cheavens, people who only participated in social activities did not show as much improvement as people who did good things for other people. “There is something specific about doing

Acts of kindness that makes humans sense linked to others. It’s not enough just to be with other people and participate in social activities,” said Cheavens.

This means that when you’re feeling down, it might just be what you need to make you feel better. Cregg concludes, “Something as simple as helping other people can reach beyond other treatments to help heal people with depression and anxiety.

“For those struggling with depression or anxiety and feeling hopeless and powerless, just having a connection with people is enough,” Sarfo said, adding that acts of kindness can even help you build a new life Friend.

“Even if you’re depressed and can’t get out of bed, you can still call, text, or leave a nice voice recording of someone to make them feel a little better,” Sarfo continued.

Doing good things for others can also help people feel a greater sense of purpose or impact on others, which is important for people with symptoms of anxiety or depression, Sarfo added.

“You realize that people appreciate you, people enjoy having you here on the planet. When you’re down and hopeless, sometimes you forget,” Sarfo said.

Sarfo encouraged parents to teach their children the importance of being kind to others. You can start with something as simple as holding the door open for someone. “It doesn’t have to be the biggest…but it might make their day,” he said.

How Long Does an Open Bottle of Wine Last?

0

And find out what to do with the leftovers!

After celebrating Christmas, standing chances are some unfinished wine bottles in your pantry or fridge. I just sit and wait to be used.

But how long can they stay there and what could you do with the wine if you don’t want to drink the leftovers? Read on to find out.

Shelf Life

The shelf life of wine depends on the type of wine you drink. The average shelf life of an opened bottle of wine is one to five days after opening.

The deadline is shorter for sparkling wine or champagne. This is because these drinks can lose their bubbles after a day or two. A white or rosé wine can be stored a little longer: you can keep them in the fridge. for about five days. The wines are still drinkable afterward, but they no longer taste as good and fruity and may even have a bitter aftertaste. You should avoid this. Red wine can be stored for two to three days. This is because the aroma disappears faster than with white wine. As long as you keep your Vintage Red in a cool, dark place. , the taste lingers a little longer, but not forever. So, whenever you can, find a little “you”: time to sip a nice glass of red, white, or rosé. Just to relax.

Leftovers

If you don’t see your open bottles of wine drinking quickly, there are a number of ways you can use the wine. That way you don’t waste anything and you can still enjoy the wine before it goes bad. An instance of that is cooking with wine. You can without difficulty upload wine to a dish like risotto. When you combine the wine with vinegar of the same color, onions, honey, and salt, you have turned the leftover wine into a delicious salad dressing that is easy to serve with any

dinner.

Wine can also be used to make pear compote or poach other fruit types. Another choice is to make wine-flavored ice cubes. If you freeze some wine in an ice cube tray, you can keep it for three months. This is a great way to preserve your wine! If you don’t like wine but love sangria, you can make your wine your favorite drink: add some fruit and ice cubes (maybe the wine-flavored ones?) and Gran Marnier (optional) to your leftover wine and you’ll have a delicious Spanish drink in no time.

The possibilities with leftover wine are pretty much limitless. That way you don’t have to waste anything. from the reds, whites, or pinks left behind during the holiday celebrations and challenge yourself to be more creative in the kitchen.

red wine

Uncorked and stored in a cool, dark place, red wine should keep for three to five days after opening. Wines with more tannins, i.e. the bitter substances in the skins, seeds and stalks of grapes and wooden barrels, are better protected from oxygen and tend to have a longer shelf life. Therefore, light red wines with fewer tannins like Pinot Noir don’t last as long as full-bodied red wines with more tannins like Shiraz. If you can’t find a cool, dark place to store your red wine, put the wine in the fridge instead of letting it sit. At temperatures of 70 degrees Fahrenheit and above, red wine spoils faster.

white wine

with body Uncorked and stored in the refrigerator, a full-bodied white wine keeps for three to five days after opening. White wines like Chardonnay and Muscat are likely to oxidize quickly as they are exposed to more oxygen during the aging process. If you drink a lot of white wine, you might want to consider purchasing a vacuum wine stopper, which seals the bottle tightly and keeps your wine fresher for longer.

Fortified wine

When re-corked and stored in a cool, dark place (below 70 degrees F), fortified wines, also known as dessert wines, can keep for up to 28 days after opening. In general, the sweeter the dessert wine, like port, sherry, and Marsala, the longer they will last. Some fortified wines, namely Marsala and Madeira, can keep for months after opening. These wines have already been oxidized and cooked, which means they have a much longer shelf life, as oxygen can no longer harm them.

wine bag in box

Once opened, wine in its packaging can be stored in your refrigerator for up to six weeks. But unlike a bottle of wine, packaged wine has a set expiration date because bag-in-box wines aren’t meant to age like a bottle. You must drink unopened bag-in-box wines within a year of the purchase or they will go bad.
